As first reported on TVGuide.com, Broadway veteran Janet McTeer will guest star in an upcoming episode of DirectTV Channel's popular legal series DAMAGES. According to the report, series star Glenn Close felt that Season 4 of the long-running show became a little too male-dominated. "Last year felt a little guy-heavy,"explained Close, "So Rose Byrne and I asked the producers to bring in more strong females."

As a result of Close's request, the final season of the show will include both McTeer, who recently co-starred with Close in this year's 'Albert Nobbs', as well as Dharma & Greg alum Jenna Elfman.

DAMAGES revolves around the brilliant, ruthless lawyer, Patty Hewes (Glenn Close), her protégée, Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne), and the law firm, Hewes & Associates (located in New York City). Each season features a major case that Hewes and her firm take on, while also examining a chapter of the complicated relationship between Ellen and Patty. The series is also known for its depiction of the season-long cases both from the law firm's point of view and from the target's point of view. The series has attracted many stars to play characters on the side against Hewes, including Ted Danson, William Hurt, Marcia Gay Harden, Martin Short, Lily Tomlin, and John Goodman.

Actress Janet McTeer won a Tony Award in 1997 as Best Actress in a Play for her portrayal of Nora in a revival of Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House." In 2009 she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance for a Leading Actress in a Play for "Mary Stuart". In 2009, she joined the cast of Broadway's 'God of Carnage'.
