Sue Sylvester is about to read you your rights.

Jane Lynch has officially signed on to lend her voice to Fox's upcoming animated series MURDER POLICE, alongside Wilmer Valderamma, the network has announced. The new series, created by FAMILY GUY's David A. Goodman and Jason Ruiz, is set to kick-off its 13-episode debut season this fall.

Lynch, best known for her acclaimed role as GLEE's conniving cheerleading coach "Sue Sylvester," will Suit Up as JUSTICE, a self-righteous detective and working mother. Valderrama gets animated as undercover cop DONEL, who is in so deep that he often does things of questionable legality. At the center of MURDER POLICE's maelstrom is Manuel Sanchez (Ruiz), a neurotic and nerdy cop who aspires to be a good policeman, but his efforts to solve crimes are constantly put in jeopardy by his own clumsiness and the incompetence of his fellow detectives. Making matters worse, his egotistical, bribe-accepting partner, TOMMY MARGARETTI (Sasso), a tough, rule-breaking "bad cop," can't interrogate a suspect without beating him up. Other detectives in the precinct include RANDALL HICKOX (McBride), a cop who would rather be doing anything else. They all are supervised by the perpetually annoyed Captain John RushOUR (Atencio), a brusque, overweight old-school cop who expects failure and can't be bothered to even get out of his Rascal scooter.

Manuel's ex-wife, ROSA (Machado), is a public defender whose passionate defense of criminals is what initially broke up their marriage. But they remain bonded in the upbringing of their son, MARIO (Ruiz), a troubled teen who is less impressed with his father than he is by the criminals he catches.

MURDER POLICE is produced by Bento Box Animation (BOB'S BURGERS) and 20th Century FOX Television. The series is co-created by David A. Goodman (FAMILY GUY) and Jason Ruiz - one of the writers/animators discovered through the FOX Inkubation program. Goodman serves as executive producer and showrunner. Ruiz is co-executive producer.

Jane Lynch's theatrical credits include The Second City, Steppenwolf Theatre and many church basements throughout the Chicagoland area. Recent film credits include A.C.O.D, Three Stooges, Wreck-It Ralph, Julie & Julia, Shrek Forever After, The Post Grad Survival Guide, Paul and Brownie Masters. Past film work includes Christopher Guest's For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind and Best in Show, as well as Role Models, The Rocker, Spring Breakdown, the animated film Space Chimps, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Walk Hard, Talladega Nights, The 40 Year old Virgin, Margaret Cho's Celeste and Bam Bam, Alan Cumming's Suffering Man's Charity, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Sleepover and Surviving Eden. She currently stars in the Ryan Murphy television series "Glee" on FOX for which she is an Emmy and Golden Globe winner for portraying the iconic television character, Sue Sylvester. Some of her other recent credits include the Starz series "Party Down," "Lovespring," a Lifetime original series, "Desperate Housewives" and "Weeds" as well as the last season of "The L Word" opposite Cybill Shepherd. She has recurring roles on "Two and a Half Men," "Criminal Minds" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine". Jane's play Oh Sister, My Sister! had runs at the Tamarind Theatre and Bang Theater, garnering the LA Weekly Comedy Ensemble of the Year Award. Jane also authored the autobiography Happy Accidents, which topped several national best sellers list, including the New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
