Jane Lynch Officially Named 2011 Emmys Host!

According to he Hollywood Reporter, GLEE star Jane Lynch will host the 2011 Emmy Awards on September 18. She'll be only the third female to host the show by herself in the history of the awards show- the others being Angela Lansbury and Ellen Degeneres.

Executive producer Mark Burnett commented: "We're delighted to have Jane Lynch host the Primetime Emmys this year," said John Shaffner, chairman and CEO, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents - as Jane proved in last year's opening number - we know it's going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!"

Lynch currently plays the role of Sue Sylvester in the Fox musical-comedy series Glee for which she has won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.

She has also played roles in comedies such as Best in Show, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Role Models, as well as for her recurring roles as lawyer Joyce Wischina in The L Word, Dr. Linda Freeman, Charlie's sarcastic therapist on Two and a Half Men and as Spencer Reid's mother, Dr. Diana Reid on Criminal Minds.
