According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jane Fonda has said this morning at a promotional event that the previously announced 9 TO 5 sequel is still a go with the original cast! In a statement to reporters, Fonda said:
"My role is as an executive producer, and I'm working with the writers, with Lily, and talking to the writers. Right now, Dolly, Lily and I are all intending to be in it."
Dolly Parton appeared on ABC News' NIGHTLINE last spring, where she discussed that she and 9 to 5 co-stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda "are going to do another one." Watch the full ABC News interview here!
"I've been talking to Lily and Jane," Parton says. "Actually all these years, we've talked about doing a sequel to '9 to 5' and it never made any real sense until just recently. We're trying to get the script and all that. Everybody is very interested and we've all agreed that we'd love to do it if it's right."

Fonda shared the news at an event this morning promoting her forthcoming HBO documentary, JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS. The documentary draws on 21 hours of interviews with Fonda, who speaks candidly and frankly about her life and her missteps. She explores the pain of her mother's suicide, her father's emotional unavailability, 30 years of an eating disorder and three marriages to highly visible, yet diametrically opposed, men. JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS also includes interviews with family and friends, as well as rare home movies and verité footage of the 80-year-old Fonda's busy life today at, as she puts it, "the beginning of my last act." The doc is set to debut later this year. Read more about it here!
