As first reported in the Hollywood Reporter, actors James Woods, Mary Louise Parker and Ving Rhames have joined the cast of the upcoming Indie drama film JAMESY BOY. The film will be directed by Trevor White, who co-wrote the script with Lane Shandgett. Tim White, Maria Norman, Steve Saeta, Glen Walker and Scott Mednick will share producer credits.
The film is based on the real life saga of teenager James Burnes, described as "a young man who goes from suburban street gangs to a maximum-security prison surrounded by hardened criminals where he fosters an unlikely friendship with a convicted murderer (Rhames) who ends up becoming his mentor and ultimately defines and changes the course of his life."
Woods will portray a prison authority at the detention center and Parker is set to play Burnes' mother.
Woods was recently seen on the big screen in the Screen Gems' reboot of Straw Dogs. Parker will soon be seen in Universal's R.I.P.D.
Shooting is scheduled to begin this March in Baltimore, Maryland.
