Deadline reports that Steve Carell and James Gandolfini will star in the upcoming HBO film BONE WARS. The actors can now be seen together in the comedy 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' now playing in theaters.

The project, which is currently being developed, is based on real-life paleontologists Edward Drinker Cope of the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and Othniel Charles Marsh of the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale.

The comedy takes place post-Civil War and follows "one of history's most notorious feuds - the great dinosaur fossil race between paleontologists Marsh (Gandolfini) and Cope (Carell) - a decades-long competition that led to the discovery of more than 160 dinosaurs and their mutual downward spiral."

Gandolfini will executive produce along with Alexandra Ryan and Carell. A writer has not yet been chosen to pen the script.
