EWonline reports that Jake Lacy will be joining NBC's THE OFFICE as a series regular when the comedy returns for its ninth season this fall. The actor is best known for his role in the ABC series, 'Better With You.'

According to the report, Lacy will portray a new Dunder Mifflin hire named 'Pete' who is a possible romantic interest for Ellie Kemper's 'Erin.' The actor joked of his new role, “Not only am I the new guy who has to do the coffee runs, but it’s a paper company, so pretty much a non-stop adrenaline rush.”

Lacy was set to star in Fox's upcoming comedy, 'The Goodwin Games,' however he was recently replaced by T.J. Miller once the pilot was completed.

The long-running NBC comedy will return without some of its key cast members including B.J. Novak, Mindy Kaling and James Spader. Kaling will be seen on her new FOX series,  The Mindy Project.
