Jack Huston to Lead Remake of THE CROW

According to Deadline, BOARDWALK EMPIRE's Jack Huston has officially signed on to lead Relativity's long-gestating remake of THE CROW.

Huston will take on the role of Eric Draven, originally played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 film. Corin Hardy will direct THE CROW, with production a start date for later this year.

The news comes after Huston's first big remake get, the starring role in BEN-HUR, based on Lew Wallace's 1880 epic novel Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ.

The screenplay, originally written by Keith Clarke (The Way Back), features revisions by Academy Award-winner John Ridley (12 Years A Slave).

Ben-Hur returns to the heart of Lew Wallace's epic novel focusing on the nature of faith. The story follows a falsely accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him. Both must come to choose between retribution or forgiveness.

Also in the cast are Morgan Freeman, Toby Kebbell, Olivia Cooke and Ayelet Zurer. Rodrigo Santoro is in talks to play Jesus Christ.

Huston's other upcoming projects include Posthumous, The Longest Ride, Famous and PRIDE and Prejudice and Zombies. He also recently appeared on the big screen in AMERICAN HUSTLE and Kill Your Darlings. He is best known for his role as 'Richard Harrow' in the TV series Boardwalk Empire.
