1.1 million total viewers tuned in to the premiere of "Jim Gaffigan: Obsessed" (April 27, 10:00 p.m.), making it the most-watched stand-up special of 2014 for Comedy Central. The #1 brand in comedy is currently in the midst of its annual Stand-Up Month which has featured one-hour premieres from Hannibal Buress, Patton Oswalt, Dave Attell and Tracy Morgan and will conclude this Sunday, May 4 at 10:00 p.m. with the premiere of "David Spade: My Fake Problems."
In addition to the 1.1 million total viewers, "Jim Gaffigan: Obsessed" scored a 0.85 P18-49 rating (up +57% year-to-date stand-up premiere average) and a 1.58 Men 18-34 rating (+60% vs. YTD stand-up average). Both marks were the highest ratings in those demos for a stand-up premiere since April 2013 ("Gabriel Iglesias: Aloha Fluffy"). "Jim Gaffigan: Obsessed" registered a 1.45 Men 18-24 rating which was up +37% from the YTD stand-up average.
"Jim Gaffigan: Obsessed" was the #1 entertainment program with Men 18-34 across all TV in its timeslot (NBA Playoffs was the top overall program).
Comedy Central will encore "Jim Gaffigan: Obsessed" on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. The special is currently available to stream, uncensored, on the Comedy Central App and an extended and uncensored edition is available for download on CC: Stand-Up Direct and other digital platforms.
An extended and uncensored edition is also available on CD, vinyl and as a digital album, which can be downloaded via iTunes, Amazon MP3, and other major retailers.
Filmed in front of a live audience at The Wilbur Theater in Boston, Gaffigan's obsession with all things food comes to fruition as he tackles a cornucopia of new food topics from fruit to seafood to donuts. Never without wry social commentary, Gaffigan digs deep into other obsessions as well, from underwear to weddings to not wanting to smell.
