JERSEY SHORE'S Snooki Announces Engagement to Jionni LaValle

USA Today reports that JERSEY SHORE cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is pregnant and engaged to her boyfriend identified as Jionni LaValle. The 24-year-old confirmed the news through a representative to Lifeline Live, stating "We can officially confirm that Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi is pregnant and engaged to her boyfriend Jionni LaValle. Nicole is thrilled to finally be able to share her happy news with her fans."

Snooki described her fiance as a"wrestling coach for little kids," who is "going to school to get a teaching degree."

The reality star shared the news yesterday in US Weekly magazine. In the article, LaValle, also 24, referred to the pregnancy as "a happy accident." In the interview, Snooki apologizes for lying to the media last month when pregnancy rumors first began to surface, but wanted to wait until she reached the three month point of her pregnancy before going public with the news. 

It appears as though becoming a mother may force Snooki to leave her partying ways behind her. She explains, "I have different priorities now. I don't care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I'm ready and he's ready." Adds her fiance, "We are not going to screw this up."

The couple is already considering possible baby names for their child, telling GQ magazine that the current frontrunners are "Frankie, Isabella, Giana, and maybe Jionni Jr."
