Actress Isabella Sanchez joins a tangled situation of black and white alongside Jamie Hector in the new dramatic feature film, DOUBTING THOMAS. The indie film will make its World Premiere during the 2018 Dances With Films festival at the famed TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood on June 12th.

Written and directed by William McFadden and based on a true story, DOUBTING THOMAS follows a young white couple who give birth to a white baby. Black babies don't come from white people -- except this one just did. At least that's what Jen (Sarah Butler) swears to her believing husband Tom (Will McFadden). Doubts begin to take hold as people keep confusing their close friend Ron (Jamie Hector) for the baby's father because they're both black. Ron's girlfriend Gianna (Sanchez) steps into the turmoil and by the time a twist is revealed that could explain the baby's appearance, it may be too late.

Sanchez was thrilled at the opportunity to be part of this intricate story, sharing "It's a story that is very important to be told during these times in our country. Working alongside such talented actors like Jamie and Sarah was very exciting. I admire Jamie from his role on The Wire. Also, I remember watching Sarah's I Spit in Your Grave with my mother in Miami and making sure my door was always locked."

Coming later this year, Sanchez will appear as Fresa in the new indie drama feature film, COMPTON'S FINEST. The film follows two Detectives on THE HUNT for a Columbian drug lord flooding the streets of Compton with the deadly drug, Devil's Breath.

Previously, Sanchez has appeared in numerous film and television projects. Her most notable credits include appearances on the Netflix series Girlboss, NBC's sitcom Marlon, and the award-winning indie film, The Custom Mary.

This half-Venezuelan, half-Colombian beauty spent her childhood in Venezuela and Miami. Often bullied and called 'gringa loca' for dressing like a boy and being different during her teen years in Venezuela, Sanchez made her way back to Miami after high school. She studied Theater Arts at Florida Atlantic University and eventually moved to Los Angeles after a short stint in New York City. It didn't take long for Sanchez to gain attention and her career was launched.

Giving back has also played a huge part in Sanchez's life. A few years ago, she took a break from her acting career and volunteered to teach displaced refugee children in the Middle East. Since returning, she now fosters Bully breed dogs.

More recently, Sanchez was forced to take time off from her career after being diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri, a brain condition that causes the same symptoms as a brain tumor. Now all clear, she is excited to be back working once again.
