Is Kim Richards Really Returning to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

E! News reports that Kim Richards is on a path to recovery, but that doesn't mean she's currently hospitalized.

Earlier today, reports hit the Internet claiming that the troubled reality star is currently in rehab after her family placed her under an involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold the other day. However, E! NEWS has learned that's not the truth.

"Kim is not in rehab right now," a source tells E! NEWS of the 50-year-old.

However, Kim did briefly enter the hospital several weeks ago. "Kim has been telling people her family did a 5150 on her the first week of August," THE INSIDER reveals of Kim's 3-day involuntary stay. "She says it was her whole family."

The source is also shedding some light on Kim's future on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Last month, Kim gave an interview to ET in which she said producers wanted her back on the show. "My representative did speak to them," she said. "They have asked me to come back."

However E! NEWS has learned that Kim was mislead by a member on her team prior to the interview. "Someone gave her wrong information. Kim was just repeating what she had been told," the source says.

In addition to her health issues and hospitalization earlier this month, Kim was also arrested for shoplifting at a Van Nuys Target on Aug. 2. Police confirmed to E! NEWS that the actress stole upwards of $600 worth of merchandise from the store. She ended up spending one night in jail before being released on $5,000 bail.
