Investigation Discovery's captivating series STOLEN VOICES, BURIED SECRETS returns Monday, December 5 at 10 PM ET for a thirteen-episode second season of murder mysteries retold through the lens of the victims' fictionalized, first-person perspectives. Earlier in 2011, season one of STOLEN VOICES became Investigation Discovery's second series to break the 1.0 household mark. Attracting viewers was the show's entrancing format: as investigators and loved ones peel back the layers and facts of each case, the victim-turned-otherworldly narrator already knows how their story ends and supplies all-knowing observations hinting at breaks to come in the case.

With such a positive take on her risky choices, Larner didn't see danger coming when she seemingly vanished into thin air one cold December night. Her family knew that something was wrong when she didn't come home, but police couldn't prove the possibility of murder without a body, and that's just how her killer wanted it. Location: Lansing, MI

Lethal Liaison

Tori Vienneau was a young mother to baby Dean when their bodies were found strangled in their own apartment. Considered the best daughter and friend anyone could ask for, her loved ones were in complete shock at the thought of such violence. Unfortunately, their answer wasn't very far from home. Location: San Diego

The Mask

(In)security

Bryan Ruff lived a simple, but charmed life. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Ruff became the father of two and worked as a nighttime security guard at a copper mine while studying for his nursing degree. Sometimes, the pressure of providing for a family at age 22 felt insurmountable, but he did anything to make it work. When Ruff disappeared, his wife wondered if the responsibility had become too burdensome. But when his body was found in the desert, they learned that Ruff's friends weren't as trustworthy as they seemed. Location: Salt Lake City

Missing Mother's Day

Premieres Monday, January 2 at 10 PM ET

Tina Marie Hill was always the girl next door and very content to live her life without ever leaving the comforts of small-town life. On Mother's Day in 2005, her children stopped by to take her to lunch, but Hill was nowhere to be found. As days went by, the police feared foul play as her family hoped to see her alive again. But in a small town, there were only so many places for the police to search and, as they discovered, Hill had not gone far. When investigators found her, they unraveled a story much more sinister they any of them imagined. Location: Social Circle, GA

Recipe for Murder

Lucille Gallegos lived a peaceful life as the proud mother of three and employee of the month at the apartment complex where she worked. One morning in June 2002, her body was found mutilated in one of the vacant apartments. The scene was straight out of a horror movie, attracting buzz among local television and radio stations. But the perpetrator of this crime was not some random killer who happened upon her. This killer lived a lot closer to home, and his blood was there next to hers. Location: Wichita, KA

Into the Wild

Steven Wood was a teacher, an avid outdoorsman, and a loving father, but when he went missing and his truck was found abandoned on the side of the road, rumors started to surface about a man suffering from depression who might have fallen victim to a satanic cult. The case went cold until police apprehended a young runaway with a tragic story about a man who met his end while trying to do the right thing. Location: Yucaipa, CA

Written in Blood

Nancy Bishop and her husband lived happily in an exclusive Chicago neighborhood and, with their first baby on the way, life couldn't have been sweeter for the young couple. Investigators were baffled by this shocking crime for months until a surprise witness came forward with a tale far more sinister than anyone in the upscale community could have ever imagined.
