Amid a call to action from viewers pressing for new episodes, Investigation Discovery is proud to announce the return of the missing persons series DISAPPEARED after more than a three-year hiatus. Produced by NBC News' award-winning production arm Peacock Productions, each episode of this heart-wrenching series takes viewers inside the world of a family holding out hope that their missing loved one will be found. Cinematic recreations and poignant interviews with families, friends and law enforcement paint the picture of a missing person's last known whereabouts. Each episode concludes with a call to action asking viewers to share fresh leads or new information to reinvigorate cases for law enforcement. The seventh season of DISAPPEARED premieres Monday, April 11 at 10/9c with 10 all-new episodes featuring missing persons cases.

DISAPPEARED debuted on Investigation Discovery in February 2010 and ran for five consecutive seasons, ending in April 2013. Following viewer demand for new episodes, ID aired a season consisting of four specials in 2014 and 2015 tied to timely cases making headlines. Now, DISAPPEARED is being revived with a full-season order due to the success of THE SPECIALS and impassioned requests from viewers and family members of the missing. Tapping into a sadly constant influx of cases, season seven will harness the rich and intricate twists of the original series with the vérité feel of the instamentary specials.

"DISAPPEARED was one of the cornerstone series that helped launch ID, and our viewers have told us time and again that there's nothing else like it on television," said Kevin Bennett, general manager of Investigation Discovery. "After listening to their outcry to cover more cases, we realized that DISAPPEARED isn't just a part of ID's DNA but it's also an important tool to help families and law enforcement bring much needed attention to heart-breaking cold cases."

"It is an honor that the families and loved ones of those missing and along with law enforcement working to find them, put their trust in Peacock Productions to allow us to share their most painful stories," said Sharon Scott, president and general manager of Peacock Productions. "We are looking forward to working with Investigation Discovery to bring back this powerful series."
