Love kills... or, at the least, it sure can hurt, a lot! In an all-new Valentine's Day special, 50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER, Investigation Discovery reveals the breakup tactics taken by real people spurned by lousy lovers who feel the sting of Cupid's acid laced arrows. Joining 50 WAYS as host is film and television star Tia Carrere, who has witnessed no small number of dramatic breakups throughout her three decades in Hollywood. Now she turns the camera onto breakup stories that are stranger than any tabloid rumor. And relationship expert to the stars, Dr. Gilda Carle is on hand to shed light on how and why love can go vengeful. Using recreations and interviews with the exes featured, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover premieres as a one-hour special on Valentine's Day, tonight, February 14 at 9 PM E/P.

"The love song says 'breaking up is hard to do', but it sure wasn't for the people featured on 50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER," said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. "Fierce and fearless both in and out of the spotlight, Tia is the perfect host for this light-hearted but darkly themed special Valentine's gift from ID!"

Everyone has their own list of deal breakers in a relationship, but a select few warrant the ballistic responses witnessed in 50 WAYS. Maybe your lover never keeps his word. Maybe they're second-rate in the sack. Maybe he hates your friends or, even worse, he's cheated on you with one of them. As Paul Simon sings it, "There must be fifty ways to leave your lover." The methods featured in this special are:

1. Luring your five-timing boyfriend to a seedy motel for a supposed night of romance, tying him to the bed and blindfolding him to set the mood, then bringing in his other lovers for an Epic ambush that involves nail glue and the cheating son-of-a-gun's private parts. Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin - Exes: Wendy Martin and Donessa Taylor

2. When a lying cheat sends you into a blind rage, deciding that your car would make a proper statement of your anger... until the Cops arrive to take you in for a little alone time, in a jail cell. Location: Jacksonville, Florida - Exes: Amber Overby and Timothy Davis

3. Enlisting a stripper friend to get pregnant by your husband - thinking the bundle of joy will save your on-the-fritz marriage - then attacking her when they kindle a real romance. Location: Dallas, North Carolina - Exes: Tabatha Johnson and Wade Logeais

50 WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOVER is produced for Investigation Discovery by Indigo Films with David M. Frank as executive producer, Carl Schick as supervising producer, and Chris Leavell as vice president of content. For Investigation Discovery, John Terp is producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager.
