The 1st Annual International Horror Film Festival (IHFF) will present the NY premiere of A Beginner's Guide to Snuff, the new horror comedy from director Mitchell Altieri (The Hamiltons, April Fool's Day, The Thompsons, Lurking in Suburbia).

When two aloof brothers decide to shoot a fake snuff film in order to gain fame and recognition, they kidnap a girl-next-door-type but get more than they bargained for when their "Starlett" starts making her own rules. The cast of A Beginner's Guide To Snuff features Joey Kern, Luke Edwards, Bree Williamson, Brad Greenquist and Perry Laylon Ojeda. It is written by Cory Knauf, Adam Weis and Mitchell Altieri with a story by Knauf, Phil Flores and Altieri.

"A Beginner's Guide To Snuff is a special film to me," said Altieri. "Not only did it bring me back to my roots in comedy where I started with my first film Lurking In Suburbia; it also gave me a chance to blend two genres that I adore: horror and comedy. The film also reunited The Butcher Brothers, Cory Knauf and Adam Weis, from the award-winning film The Hamiltons."

"The IHFF is honored to present the NYC premiere of A Beginner's Guide To Snuff," said festival founder and director John Capo. "I have been a huge fan of Mitchell Altieri since The Hamiltons and I'm excited to share his latest film with our audience."

The IHFF, to be held October 21-27, 2016 at NYC's Cinema Village, is a world class event honoring the best in American and international horror filmmaking. As part of this year's festival, the IHFF will be honoring the legacy of horror icon Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last House on the Left, Scream), featuring an appearance by Mr. Craven's widow, Iya Labunka. The festival will also feature a special screening of The Monster Squad with appearances by cast members Duncan Regehr (Count Dracula) and Tom Noonan (Frankenstein's Monster).

Submissions for the festival are being accepted through June 1, 2016. To submit a film, visit www.internationalhorrorfestival.com.
