IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach Comes to NBC This Sunday

Coming off a record-setting season of INDYCAR viewership, NBCSN opens its coverage of the 2017 Verizon INDYCAR SERIES with a live presentation of the iconic Grand Prix of Long Beach this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET, highlighting a motorsports event tripleheader on the network this weekend.

NBCSN also continues its presentation of the 2017 Formula One season with comprehensive coverage of the F1 Chinese Grand Prix, culminating in live race coverage Sunday at 1:30 a.m. ET/Saturday at 10:30 p.m. PT.

In addition, NBCSN will provide nearly 15 hours of Mecum Auctions coverage from its event in Houston, Texas, beginning tomorrow with five hours of live coverage at Noon ET.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app - NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will provide comprehensive streaming coverage of this week's IndyCar, F1 and Mecum Auctions telecasts via "TV Everywhere."


INDYCAR GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH - SUNDAY AT 4:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN presents the 43rd running of the Grand Prix of Long Beach this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET, as Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) looks to build off of his season-opening victory in St. Petersburg. Defending series champion Simon Pagenaud (Penske) finished in second place in St. Petersburg, while four-time series champion Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) rounded out the podium in third place.

Coverage begins Friday on NBCSN with live practice at 5 p.m. ET, followed by coverage of qualifying on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Race coverage begins Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN with IndyCarCountdown, followed by the green flag of the Grand Prix of Long Beach at 4:30 p.m. ET.

RiCK Allen, who serves as NBC Sports Group's lead NASCAR play-by-play announcer, will handle the play-by-play duties for this week's Grand Prix of Long Beach, filling in for lead INDYCAR and F1 announcer Leigh Diffey, who will call the F1 Chinese Grand Prix. Allen will be joined by four-time Grand Prix of Long Beach champion and analyst Paul Tracy, as well as driver and analyst Townsend Bell.

Marty Snider, Robin Miller, Kevin Lee, and Katie Hargitt will handle coverage in the pits in Long Beach.

In addition, pre-race coverage on Sunday will include a feature with driver Conor Daly (A.J. Foyt Enterprises) and his visit with Dennis McCarthy, a picture car coordinator who is the man behind the cars used in the "Fast and the Furious" movies, ahead of the release of "The Fate of the Furious" nationwide on April 14.


FORMULA ONE CHINESE GRAND PRIX - SUNDAY AT 1:30 A.M. ET/SATURDAY AT 10:30 P.M. PT ON NBCSN

Coverage of the F1 season continues on NBCSN this Sunday at 1:30 a.m. ET/Saturday at 10:30 p.m. PT with the Chinese Grand Prix, as Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) looks to build off of his victory at this season's opening race in Melbourne two weekends ago.

Live coverage begins exclusively on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app tonight at 10 p.m. ET with Practice 1, followed by NBCSN's live coverage of Practice 2 on Friday at 2 a.m. ET/Thursday at 11 p.m. PT. Streaming coverage continues Saturday at 12 a.m. ET/Friday at 9 p.m. PT with Practice 3, followed by live qualifying at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. Live Chinese Grand Prix coverage begins Sunday morning at 1:30 a.m. ET/Saturday at 10:30 p.m. PT.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call this weekend's action, and will be joined by veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team's on-site reporter from Shanghai International Circuit in China.


MECUM AUCTIONS: HOUSTON - COVERAGE BEGINS TOMORROW AT NOON ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN will present nearly 15 hours of Mecum Auctions coverage from its event in Houston, Texas, beginning tomorrow with a live six-hour block at noon ET. An estimated 1,000 vehicles will cross the auction block this weekend, including a pair of 2015 Lamborghinis, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Resto Mod, and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Resto Mod, as well as more than 50 vehicles from the LaQuay Automobile Collection which will be offered at no reserve.

Live coverage from Houston continues Friday at noon, followed by a live five-hour block on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET, and coverage later that evening at 9 p.m. ET.

Scott Hoke will host NBCSN's Mecum Auctions coverage on-site NRG Arena in Houston, Texas, alongside analysts John Kraman, Stephen Cox, Bill Stephens, and reporter Katie Osborne. Mecum Auctions is led by Dana Mecum, Founder and President of Mecum Auctions for the past 29 years.
