Inaugural Stareable Fest kicks off July 20-22 Image

Stareable, the largest community of web series creators, is proud to present the inaugural Stareable Fest from July 20-22. The three-day event aims to celebrate and connect the ever-growing HUB of independent web series creators.

"A record-breaking 500-plus scripted shows are expected to air this year but even with 50 million content creators now working online and so many people streaming digital content, Hollywood has yet to really delve into this increasingly vast and diverse pool of talent," said Ajay Kishore, Founder and CEO of Stareable. "We're committed to helping steer the mainstream industry toward vibrant, diverse new voices to help represent under-voiced groups including women, people of color and the LGBT+ community."

Highlights from Stareable Fest will include: a pitch competition where development teams from major networks such as Comedy Central and PBS will judge among twenty show concepts - the winner will nab a mentorship meeting with HBO. Additionally, two- time Primetime Emmy-award winner Bernie Su will be the featured keynote speaker and will share his experiences on creating the acclaimed web series The Lizzie Bennett Diaries and Emma Approved.

"I'm inspired by how Stareable continues to find new ways to support and nurture the next generation of indie storytellers. I look forward to supporting their movement in building their community on both their platform and at the festival, " said Su.

Other featured events include panels on under-representation hosted by Vice, First Look, Verizon OATH, and Bustle, and workshops educating creators on the changing digital landscape. In attendance will be nearly 50 creators from some of today's top web series including Barbelle, Edgar Allan Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party and People Watching, each with over 1 million views on YouTube. The three-day festival will culminate with an awards ceremony to honor some of today's top web series creators, with a "Best of Stareable Fest" distinction that will come with a cash prize, along with a development meeting with Bernie Su.

Tickets are on sale for $75 here. More information: Fest.Stareable.com

About Stareable Fest Stareable Fest will take place July 20th-22nd, 2018, in New York City. It's half industry marketplace, creating face-to-face connections between independent filmmakers and decision MAKERS at major networks and platforms and half creator convention, with workshops and panels about how to be a more effective filmmaker. This isn't the same old festival, focused on screenings and awards (though we have those too).

Stareable Fest is proud to be supported by PopChest, HBO, Bustle, IPF, OMDC, and Seeka TV and is done in partnership with Comedy Central and Seed&Spark.
