Idol Fantasia Barrino to Discuss Pregnancy Scandal on 'Wendy Williams', 10/11

According to the Hollywood Reporter, American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino will appear on "The Wendy Williams Show" today to discuss the rumors that have been surfacing about her pregnancy. While the actress/singer has not officially revealed who the father of her child is, it is rumored to be Antwaun Cook, a married man she has been seeing on and off over the past year.  Since appearing on Idol, Barrino has been surrounded with controversies including the revelation that she is illiterate and an unsuccessful suicide attempt.

The announcement of her pregnancy could result in her losing the starring role in the upcoming biographical film, "Mahalia!" which tells the life story of legendary gospel singer Mahalia Jackson. The actress, who announced her pregnancy at a concert last August, is due in December. This has already caused the project to be delayed. Barrino hopes her appearance on today's show will help to alleviate the effects of the scandal.

Rumors about Barrino's alleged affair began a year ago when a North Carolina woman filed for divorce, accusing her husband, Cook, of having an affair with Barrino. The affair supposedly led to her husband becoming withdrawn from their marriage. The resulting lawsuit makes reference to a sex tape that Barrino allegedly made with Cook. At the same time, it was reported that Barrino was hospitalized from an overdose of sleeping medication.  She later explained that the apparent suicide attempt was due to the constant media attention surrounding her.

Other guests on today's "Wendy Williams Show" include actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Rev. Al Sharpton who will talk about his new MSNBC show, PolitcsNation.
