The all-new season of IFC's original comedy series MARON picks up where the season three cliffhanger left off, with comedian and pioneer podcaster Marc Maron's fictional alter ego falling off the wagon and quickly descending the ladder of success. Having blown his sobriety, he has now lost it all: house, friends, career, even his cats are all gone. Drug-addled Marc is now squatting in a storage unit and trying to pull himself out of the "excrement bucket." To see how Marc finds his way toward Clean Living, tune in to the season four premiere on Wednesday, May 4 with two back-to-back episodes at 9:00pm and 9:30pm ET/PT on IFC. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays at 9:00pm ET/PT.

The upcoming season kicks off with Marc, jobless and friendless, hitting rock bottom and wondering what his questionable future holds. He goes to rehab where he is the only adult, crashes in a sexually awkward sober house, and hangs with his newly successful, but still disturbing friend Dave. THE JOURNEY may be different this time around, but Marc is the same self-deprecating curmudgeon, and season four's ROCKY ROAD to recovery leads him to bond with a wild cast of eccentric new characters.

"In this season I was able to have the worst things that could happen in my life, happen. I'm okay. I made it through the fiction and it was hilarious. I actually end up in a fictionally better place too," said Marc Maron.

"Never has anyone's fall from grace provided such a comic canvas," said Jennifer Caserta, IFC president. "But not to worry MARON fans, just when you think it can't get any worse for Marc, it actually does! His reparation may not be conventional, but it is certainly inspired."

Season four guest stars include Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Hand of God), Constance Zimmer (UnREAL, Entourage), Amy Smart (Crank, Justified), Joey "Coco" Diaz (The Longest Yard, Analyze That), Don Stark (That '70s Show, John Carter), and Randy and Jason Sklar (Mighty Med, Wild Hogs). Returning stars include Judd Hirsch (Ordinary People, Damages, This Must Be the Place) as Marc's father; Sally Kellerman (MASH, Back to School) as his Pilates-loving mother; Andy Kindler (Bob's Burgers, Everybody Loves Raymond) as his reliable buddy and cat sitter; fellow comedian Whitney Cummings (Whitney, Workaholics); and Dave Anthony (Walking THE ROOM podcast) as his competing "fre-nemy."

In addition to the series, Marc is also the host and creator of the top-rated podcast WTF with Marc Maron, where he interviews notable guests such as Louis C.K., Lorne Michaels and President Barack Obama. The critically acclaimed podcast regularly hits #1 on the iTunes comedy charts and has been downloaded over 240 million times, averaging 6 million downloads per month. Outside of the podcast, Marc is a regular on the stand-up circuit and a New York Times best-selling author.

Marc MARON is the creator, executive producer and writer of Maron. Apostle's Denis Leary and Jim Serpico are also executive producers, along with Michael Jamin, Sivert Glarum and Olivia Wingate. Tom Sellitti is a co-executive producer. MARON is produced for IFC by FOX 21 Television Studios. Series directors include Lynn Shelton, Bobcat Goldthwait, Rob Cohen, Joe Kessler, Casey Brown, and Dave Anthony.

Catch up on the entire first three seasons of MARON available now on Netflix and iTunes. Season four episodes will also be available on the new IFC mobile app.
