IFC announced today new "slightly off" on-air short form programming, digital comedy content and a unique take on the classic game of Bingo. THE LINEUP of unexpected offerings will add to IFC's current roster of original series, including Brockmire, returning for Season 2 on April 25, Stan Against Evil, returning for Season 3 this fall, and Documentary Now!, heading into production for Season 3 this spring.
IFC's new initiatives include the following:
· Night Flight: The '80s are back and bigger than ever on IFC. The network recently partnered with Night Flight, the cult late night series that originally aired from 1981 to 1989. This spring, IFC is reviving the pop culture show as a short form program, showcasing the most memorable moments from the original Night Flight library, including iconic interviews and performances from 80s era all-stars. Premiering Friday, April 20 at 1AM (Friday night/Saturday morning) each 15-minute episode of Night Flight on IFC will bring back classic guest stars such as Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, KISS, The Sex Pistols and even Gumby. 18 episodes of Night Flight will air this year. To honor the return of Night Flight, IFC is hosting a 90-minute screening event on Thursday, April 19 at 7:00PM at Brooklyn's Alamo Drafthouse (445 Albee Square W #4, Brooklyn, NY 11201), where they'll be showing a collection of the series' best moments coming to IFC's air followed by a Q&A with original Night Flight Creator and Producer Stuart S. Shapiro. Tickets are available at https://drafthouse.com/nyc/show/night-flight.
· Bingo Night on IFC: Ready, set, BINGO! IFC is bringing Bingo Night to TV. Starting Thursday, April 26, IFC will air an interactive weekly Bingo game during the breaks of the network's prime time movie. Viewers can play along live by watching the "Bingo Breaks" (with the numbers called by actual IFC employees and special guests) and using an online Bingo card, available on an interactive website. After an evening of old fashioned Bingo with a digital twist, lucky winners can collect their weekly prizes.
· Sloth TV: IFC's upcoming digital initiative available on all IFC OTT platforms, Sloth TV is a curated themed playlist that pays tribute to the worldwide phenomenon of slow TV with a 'slightly off' twist. Launching this Fall, Sloth TV will encourage viewers to kick back and see what ODDITIES await with different themes appearing each month ranging from 80s work out videos to grandmas knitting sweaters.
These join recently launched on-air content, FODtv:
· FODtv: Launching last fall, FODtv (Funny Or Die Television) continues to be a Saturday night staple for the network, offering a branded evening of short-form programming. Each week IFC is "hacked" by FODtv and premieres an absurd, offbeat array of new content with some of Funny or Die's favorite characters. The (very) short-form shows that continue to interrupt IFC's prime time movies on all IFC platforms include Learn to Paint with The Shirtless Painter, The Divorced Dad Cooking Show, ASMR with Kelly Whispers, and Long Haired Businessmen. This year IFC is adding animation into the FODtv mix through a content partnership with Cartuna. See more about FODtv here: https://www.ifc.com/shows/fod-tv
