Adam Lambert, Matt Giraud, and Kris Allen made up American Idol's bottom three this week, a shock that might just be the most stunning voting upset in the program's long history.
The consensus has been that Adam Lambert would never be eliminated on "American Idol", but his placement in the "bottom 3" was a true shock, or was it? Over 47 million votes were cast last night according to Ryan Seacrest. In the last few moments it was Matt Giraud who was sent home, saving Adam from what would of been a shocking exit.
On to next week and what awaits for the remaining Top 4 on the hit FOX show.
Taylor Hicks, Natalie Cole, and Jamie Foxx all made guest appearances on the show tonight. Hicks commented on how much fun he is having on the GREASE! National Tour playing 'Teen Angel'.
Last night, Tuesday, April 28th, the Top 5 finalists - Kris Allen, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert - took to the stage again to perform standards made famous by members of the original Rat Pack, a group of legendary performers that included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.
In addition to performing in WICKED, Adam Lambert also had a role in The Ten Commandments and appeared in The Zodiac Show.
Since winning the fifth season of AMERICAN IDOL, Hicks has released his platinum-certified debut album, toured throughout Asia and performed with legendary musical acts such as The Allman Brothers, Willie Nelson and Earth, Wind & Fire. The Alabama native made his Broadway debut in 2008, and can currently be seen starring in the national tour of "Grease."
