Hugh Dancy to Star in NBC Drama Pilot HANNIBAL

According to TVLine.com, Hugh Dancy is set to star in the upcoming NBC drama pilot HANNIBAL. The project is a contemporary take on Thomas Harris' novel 'Red Dragon'. It will be written and executive produced by Pushing Diasies creator Bryan Fuller.

HANNIBAL will tell the story of "the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship."

Dancy is one of the most acclaimed young actors of his generation having made his Broadway debut in the 2008 Tony-winning revival of Journey's End. He returned to the New York stage in the 2009 production of The Pride for which he received Lortel and Drama League Award nominations. Dancy also appeared in the West End production of To The Green Fields, directed by Sam Mendes. He is currently starring in VENUS IN FUR opposite Nina Arianda.

His film and TV credits include his Emmy-nominated role in the HBO miniseries "Elizabeth I," the acclaimed film Adam, The Jane Austen Book Club, and Evening. He has also appeared in the comedy My Idiot Brother and the thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene.
