HISTORY is set to premiere :30 second national SWAMP PEOPLE spot in the fourth quarter of the upcoming Superbowl XLVI. The announcement was made by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager, HISTORY.

The Superbowl commercial will promote and showcase both HISTORY, as well as the third season of its popular series, SWAMP PEOPLE which premieres Thursday, February 9 at 9pm ET.

"This is a great moment for HISTORY," said Ms. Dubuc. "We are currently one of the top brands in the media landscape and the #2 network for men, and SWAMP PEOPLE is one of our most successful shows - Season 2 of SWAMP PEOPLE averaged 4.1 million total viewers, which was a 32% increase over Season 1. This is a great way for Americans to get back into the Swamp of things prior to the new season!"

In This is Your Boss, HISTORY takes viewers into the heart of the Atchafalaya Swamp deep in Louisiana - for a Swamp's Eye view of "just another day at the office" - It's a NO GUTS NO GATOR kind of a place where The Boss has a large set of teeth and won't take No for an answer. The spot launches in the Superbowl, and then media will continue with additional paid placements and on A+E Networks.

Continued Ms. Dubuc: "So much of the HISTORY brand is about America and Making History Every Day - with this spot we want to give viewers that sense - that we are part of the American fabric."

SWAMP PEOPLE explores and celebrates a unique culture far removed from the mainstream of contemporary America. This is a united community that fends for itself and makes a living any way they can in an unpredictable environment. The families of SWAMP PEOPLE battle Father Time, Mother Nature and the challenges of life in and around the murky waters of the Atchafalaya Swamp. They are America's forgotten pioneers.

Season Three of SWAMP PEOPLE follows these intrepid hunters and family men as they head out in pursuit of these most powerful beasts during the 30-day alligator hunting season, regulated by the state of Louisiana.

Season 2 of SWAMP PEOPLE set a record for the program, with 4.1 million Total Viewers.

SWAMP PEOPLE ranks as the #7 ad-supported cable non-fiction series in 2011 to-date among A25-54. Overall, Season 2 of SWAMP PEOPLE averaged 2.1 million Adults 25-54, 2.1 million Adults 18-49, 1.3 million Men 25-54 and 1.3 million Men 18-49.
