HISTORY is pleased to announce the kickoff of its 2014 "Mission to Honor" campaign by hosting 40 veterans at the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII. Members of veterans service groups Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues will attend as official guests to help launch HISTORY'S annual nationwide, multi-platform "Mission to Honor" public affairs campaign to recognize American veterans. A+E Networks, which includes HISTORY in its portfolio and is a host sponsor of NFL Super Bowl XLVIII, has a long-standing commitment to veterans and military families.

Team Rubicon (teamrubiconusa.rog), a veterans service organization that deploys veteran volunteers to disaster areas for emergency assistance; and The Mission Continues (missioncontinues.org), a veteran "redeployment" non-profit that organizes fellowship programs and veterans Service Platoons, will each receive 20 tickets to the big game. Their selfless acts in the global community embody the spirit of HISTORY's "Mission to Honor" initiative and HISTORY is thrilled to have them attend the Super Bowl this Sunday to honor this group of veterans and their commitment to service.

"HISTORY is proud to host our esteemed veterans in America's biggest city for America's biggest game," said Nancy Dubuc, President and CEO, A+E Networks. "As citizens of this country, members of Team Rubicon and Mission Continues gave up some of the best years of their lives to defend our freedom and they've made an ongoing commitment to give back to others through their volunteer work. We think a trip the Super Bowl only scratches the surface of gratitude our nation feels for them. Whether you're a Bronco or a Seahawk, we can all stand up and cheer for the Red, White, and Blue."

About HISTORY'S Award-Winning "Mission to Honor"

Few Americans are aware that only 1% of our citizens serve in the Armed Forces. It's time for 100% of the remaining 99% to say thank you and learn more about the veterans who continue to give back through service. January 2014 kicks of HISTORY'S 8th Annual "Mission to Honor," its nationwide, multi-platform public affairs campaign dedicated to recognizing American veterans. Expanding each year, "Mission to Honor" in 2014 will be the Network's biggest year yet, with high visibility on-air, online, in schools, in businesses and local communities. "Mission to Honor" has already drawn wide public participation, thanks to on-screen support from notable leaders like Vice President Joe Biden, First Lady Michelle Obama, Dr. Jill Biden, and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as well as Actor Bradley Cooper, and Major League baseball player Johnny Damon. More than 10,000 schools have participated in Take A Veteran to School Day and 700 corporations have joined-on to Thank A Veteran at Work Day. By adding a new social media platform through#THANKAVET, HISTORY reached more Americans than ever in 2013. For more information, please visit Veterans.com.
