HISTORY premieres new episodes of the U.S. version of TOP GEAR tonight at 9pm ET/PT. To date the second season of the critically-acclaimed and popular series has attracted 35% growth in Adults 25-54 vs. Season One, and continues to deliver HISTORY's youngest audience ever.
Top Gear is hosted by champion race car driver Tanner Foust, racing analyst Rutledge Wood and comedian Adam Ferrara.
Talent set to appear on Top Gear for the "Big Star Small Car" segments includes: Ed Burns, Lake Bell, John huertas, Joe Montegna, Stephen Moyer, Kal Penn and Patrick Warburton.
In eight new episodes, Tanner, Adam and Rutledge push the envelope even further with crazier challenges, bigger stunts, faster cars and plenty of high jinks. They set out to master Big Rig driving and deliver dangerous cargo across Michigan with explosive results; transport unsuspecting celebrities to the Primetime Emmy(R) Awards in homemade one-of-a-kind limousines; and compete over who has chosen the perfect convertible supercar for a mystery billionaire celebrity client, on a road trip to New York City. The hosts also crown the best modern muscle car, America's most dangerous car and the worst vehicle in the country. In a nod to the past the hosts attempt to conquer the Rocky Mountains on a pioneer trail in the modern day version of the covered wagon - soccer mom vans.
Tanner, Adam and Rutledge take things to a new, thrilling and customarily ridiculous level. Featuring super-cars, extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity interviews Top Gear is the home for anyone with a love of cars. The U.S. version is chock-full of high-adrenaline action entertainment as it tracks the colorful history of the automobile as well as the eccentric adventures of its hosts with Top Gear's customary wit and humor. The series harkens back to HISTORY's very first day, and the network's very first program ever to air, Automobiles: Corvette.
Top Gear is a produced by BBC Worldwide Productions and is co-production between HISTORY and BBC Worldwide. John Hesling is Executive Producer. Executive producer for HISTORY is Russ McCarroll.
