History Channel Revs Up for TOP GEAR's Return on 1/29

HISTORY announced today that new episodes for Season 3 of the U.S. version of Top Gear will premiere Tuesday, January 29 at 9PM ET/8C. The second season of the critically-acclaimed and popular series broke into the millionaire's club with 1.1 million Adults 25-54 and 18-49 (+30 and +22 vs. S1, respectively) and is the youngest skewing series on HISTORY. Season Two was seen by nearly 60 million viewers.

Top Gear is hosted by comedian Adam Ferrara, champion race car driver Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood.

In the new episodes, Tanner, Adam and Rutledge will continue to embark on some of the most Epic journeys on the planet, exploring our own great nation while testing the limits of the world's most prestigious - and infamous - automobiles. The guys will hit the road and criss-cross the nation behind the wheels of some of the most iconic vehicles across the globe. They'll compete over who had the best college car on an Epic road trip through Mexico; tackle volcanoes and glaciers in America's toughest 4-wheel drives; reinvent the RV and Taxi; and build a car capable of handling the apocalypse. From Californian beaches to the ice bound sierras, two-million dollar super cars to 1500 dollar clunkers, Tanner, Adam and Rutledge will drive them all. They'll learn how to drive on frozen lakes, play football in cars and discover just how much punishment a vehicle can take before it gives up.

Featuring super-cars, extreme stunts, challenges and car reviews, Top Gear is the home for anyone with a love of cars. The U.S. version is chock-full of high-adrenaline action entertainment as it tracks the colorful history of the automobile as well as the eccentric adventures of its hosts with Top Gear's customary wit and humor. The series harkens back to HISTORY's first day, and the network's very first program on air, Automobiles: Corvette.
