According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hilarie Burton will be featured in a recurring story arc on ABC's GREY'S ANATOMY. The actress will debut her role on the show's 22nd episode of the seaon, scheduled to air in May. She will portray a "craniofacial specialist who visits the hospital to work on a case."

Show creator Shonda Rhimes recently warned fans of the show to expect some shockers during this year's seaon finale: "Had very intense discussions yesterday with writers about the Grey's season finale. We made some very bold shocking decisions. Wow," she wrote.

Burton joins a roster of guest stars who recurred on this season of the medical drama including Constance Zimmer, Justin Bruening, Neve Campbell and guest star Sarah Chalke.

A former host of MTV's Total Request Live, Burton portrayed Peyton Sawyer on The CW drama One Tree Hill for six seasons (2003-2009). Burton gained wider recognition with leading roles in the films Our Very Own, Solstice and The List, and currently stars as Sara Ellis on the USA dramedy White Collar.
