Variety writes that Helena Bonham Carter will be heading THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, reprising her role as the Red Queen in Disney's upcoming 'Alice in Wonderland' sequel, directed by James Bobin (The Muppets).

The project will serve as a sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 film and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
Mia Wasikowska will reprise her role as Alice, while Johnny Depp returns as Mad Hatter. Sacha Baron Cohen is also eyeing a role in the movie. If he were to join, Depp, Cohen and Carter would reunite together on screen for the first time since Sweeney Todd.
Carter's upcoming films include Kenneth Branagh's Cinderella and Suffragette. Among her recent big screen credits are The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet, Burton and Taylor, The Lone Ranger, Tom Hooper's Les Miserables, Great Expectations, the Harry Potter series, The King's Speech and more.
