Stage veterans Marcia Gay Harden, William Petersen, and Lucy Liu, along with Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, James Caan, and Christina Hendricks, will star in the film 'Detachment,' The Hollywood Reporter reports.  The film will be directed by Tony Kaye.

According to the Reporter, the film deals with a high school substitute teacher (Brody) who becomes involved in the lives of the students and teachers at the school where he is working.  Petersen will play a history teacher who suffers for his attempts to teach tolerance by showing a gay film, Hendricks will play a fellow teacher and possible love interest for Brody's character, and Liu will play a school psychologist.
