Stage veterans Marcia Gay Harden, William Petersen, and Lucy Liu, along with Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, James Caan, and Christina Hendricks, will star in the film 'Detachment,' The Hollywood Reporter reports. The film will be directed by Tony Kaye.
According to the Reporter, the film deals with a high school substitute teacher (Brody) who becomes involved in the lives of the students and teachers at the school where he is working. Petersen will play a history teacher who suffers for his attempts to teach tolerance by showing a gay film, Hendricks will play a fellow teacher and possible love interest for Brody's character, and Liu will play a school psychologist.
Filming on 'Detachment' recently began in New York.
Marcia Gay Harden has appeared on Broadway in ANGELS IN AMERICA and GOD OF CARNAGE. Her film credits include 'Pollock,' for which she won an Academy Award, as well as 'The First Wives Club,' 'Mystic River,' 'Into the Wild,' and 'Used People.'
Lucy Liu recently made her Broadway debute in GOD OF CARNAGE. Her film and television credits include 'Ally McBeal,' 'Charlie's Angels,' 'Kill Bill,' 'Chicago,' and 'Kung Fu Panda.'
