A bit of a delay from camera to television is expected for every "live" broadcast. However, the usual 5 seconds or so could be extended due to fears regarding Ryan Seacrest's recent sexual harassment allegations, Deadline reports.
Seacrest recently faced allegations by his former stylist of inappropriate behavior, including crotch grinding, rear-end slapping, and more, resulting in fears that some celebrities interviewed by Seacrest will make comments or otherwise behave in ways unfit for television. This may cause the team to create a 30-second or more delay from the time the segments are filmed to when they reach your television.
An insider told Deadline that "The plan being considered is to mainly ensure plenty of time to either cut to Giuliana or to pull the plug altogether unnoticed if an on-camera encounter with Ryan goes into tricky territory."
"It's business as usual," an E! spokesperson told Deadline. "As always, we tape multiple sources of content simultaneously to deliver the best possible show, and there are often brief delays between interviews."
The ultimate decision will be made in the truck and by producers on the ground at the event.
