Hans Zimmer Composes Song to Benefit Victims of Aurora Shooting

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer announced on his Facebook page that he has recorded an 8-minute "elegiacal tone poem" entitled 'Aurora' to honor the victims of the recent mass shootings at a Colorado movie theater.

Zimmer, composer of the music to DARK KNIGHT RISES, the film which was showing at the time of the shootings, stated, "Aurora" is dedicated to those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Aurora Victim Relief organization."

Zimmerreceived an Academy Award for the score to Disney’s The Lion King.His other film works includes Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Black Hawk Down, The Simpsons Movie, and the Pirates Of The Caribbean film trilogy.
