The HOW I MET YOUR... franchise will officially be growing.

Deadline reports that CBS has made a deal with 20th Century Fox TV for a pilot order of HOW I MET YOUR DAD, a spin-off of the network's long-running sticom How I Met Your Mother. The new series will be told from the female point of view.

HOW I MET YOUR DAD comes from HIMYM creators and producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, along with Emily Spivey (Up All Night).

The series will center on a new group of friends in New York City, focusing on a female protagonist in search of her future husband. MacLaren's Pub -- the HIMYM gang's favorite hangout -- will be featured in the new show.

It's rumored that the new characters might make an appearance at the pub in the HIMYM series finale.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, now in its ninth and final season on CBS, is a comedy about Ted and how he fell in love. This season takes place over the course of Barney and Robin's wedding weekend, when the lives of the gang change dramatically. Ted is about to move to Chicago, Marshall and Lily are about to move to Rome, and Robin and Barney are about to become husband and wife. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.
