HGTV Hits Renovation Series FLIP OR FLOP Delivers Over 7 Million Total Viewers

HGTV's FLIP OR FLOP, starring real estate/flipping experts Tarek and Christina El Moussa, was the number one cable program for the night on Thursday, August 25. The 9 p.m. ET/PT episode - garnering a 1.35 live plus same-day rating among viewers P25-54 - was the premiere of a five week Summer programming event, "Flip or Flop: Selling Summer," in which the El Moussa's tackle backyard transformations and outdoor living spaces.

The premiere episode helped HGTV secure the lead position among cable networks on Thursday night as well as the number four spot among all television networks - behind only ABC-TV, CBS-TV and NBC-TV. The premiere also was the highest rated episode of FLIP OR FLOP ever among P25-54 and W25-54 ratings, ensuring that the night (8P-12A) took its place in HGTV history as the highest rated Thursday night among P25-54 ratings. More than 7.9 million total viewers watched HGTV on Thursday night. The network also ranked as the #1 cable network among upscale P25-54 and W25-54 for the night.
