Passion River Films is proud to announce the upcoming DVD and Blu-Ray release of "Hello Herman," scheduled to coincide with the 2013 National Bullying Prevention Month.
"Hello Herman," starring Norman Reedus from AMC's smash-hit series "The Walking Dead," is a provocative drama that confronts the issues of bullying, school violence, gun control, and capital punishment. The film follows controversial video blogger Lax Morales (Reedus) as he interviews a tormented High School student (Garrett Backstrom) driven to murder 39 of his classmates. "Hello Herman" explores the various factors, including bullying, social alienation, and readily accessible weapons, that can turn a seemingly average teenager into a cold-blooded killer. The film has been praised for both its production and its bold anti-bullying message. Sam Kashner of Vanity Fair named "Hello Herman" a "powerful and important work, a darkly brilliant tone poem about America's tango with violence and fame." In response to the message of the story, anti-bullying organization Champions Against Bullying and art collective Art Effect collaborated on launching the Hello Herman Project, which provides educational tools and activities to combat bullying in schools.
