Acclaimed comedian and former Saturday Night Live writer for the "Weekend Update" Drew Michael stars in his first HBO® comedy special, Drew Michael, available for Digital Download September 24. Directed by comedy actor and writer Jerrod Carmichael (HBO's Jerrod Carmichael: 8), Drew Michael is "inventive and cerebral, and insists that you ponder the mechanics of comedy" (Vulture).
Michael has been called "The Man Behind the Most Experimental Stand-Up Special of 2018" (Rolling Stone) in this uniquely filmed, stripped-down stage setting with no audience. In his confessional-style delivery, Michael searches through his own identity against a black void and his solo musings are intermingled with footage of FaceTime conversations with his "girlfriend," a young British woman played by Suki Waterhouse (Love, Rosie).
This one-hour special marks the latest addition to HBO's recent comedy specials including: Bill Maher: Live From Oklahoma; Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady; George Lopez: The Wall-Live From Washington, D.C. and more.
