EWonline reports that the HBO network is pulling the plug on three of its of its series, 'Hung', 'Bored to Death' and 'How To Make it in America!' while at the same time ordering a second season of its freshman series 'Enlightened'.
'Hung' and 'Bored to Death' each ran for three seasons on the cable network, while 'How To Make it in America' was on the air for two. 'Enlightened' stars actress Laura Dern and was recently nominated for a Golden Globe award for 'Best TV Series for a comedy/musical', as well as 'best actress'.
The network is making way for some of its upcoming new series which it hopes will be ratings winners, including 'Luck', a new drama from David Milch which stars academy-award winner Dustin Hoffman, and Aaron Sorkin's new series about a fictional cable-news show. Also debuting on HBO will be 'Veep' starring Seinfeld alum Julia Louis-Drefus, 'Girls', 'Life's Too Short' and 'Angry Boys'. Popular HBO series 'Game of Thrones', 'True Blood' and 'Boardwalk Empire' are also premiering their new seasons in the upcoming months.
