Freeform Announces Premiere Date/ Shares First Look at SHADOWHUNTERS Season 3

At this weekend's New York Comic Con, FreeForm announced that SHADOWHUNTERS will return for Season 3 on Tuesday, April 3rd at 8 pm EDT. The executive producers and cast gave fans an exclusive first look at the season. Check out the trailer below. The network also announced an additional 10-episode pickup for the series to air next summer.

In further exciting news, FreeForm announced that Broadway star Javier Muñoz (HAMILTON, IN THE HEIGHTS) and actress Anna Hopkins (ARROW) will be joining the cast this season. Muñoz and Hopkins will guest star in season three as two new adversaries for the SHADOWHUNTERS crew - this season's main villain, Lilith, played by Hopkins and a rival warlock for Magnus Bane played by Muñoz. Although Muñoz was not able to attend the event in person, he revealed the casting news in a special video announcement to fans below:

"Shadowhunters" is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG and Matt Hastings. The series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Herondale, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway, Alisha Wainwright as Maia Roberts and HARRY Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.
