'Guy Code's Lil Duval, Andrew Schulz to Serve as MC's for 2012 MTV EMA

MTV2 today announced that comedians Lil Duval and Andrew Schulz, who star in the networks highest-rated show MTV2's Guy Code, will serve as special MCs for the U.S. telecast of the 2012 MTV EMA from Frankfurt's historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2. The dynamic duo will also announce the U.S. only EMA category winner for U.S. Artist About to Go Global, presented by the new 5 Gum Micro Pack.

Voting for the U.S. only category launched today at www.EMA.MTV2.com and will continue through Friday, November 9 at 5:59pm ET with emerging artists Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, Tyga, MGK and Big Sean vying for the MTV2 EMA award.

Also, MTV today announced that Carly Rae Jepsen, fun. and Rita Ora ? three of the hottest emerging acts who have set the music industry afire  will each make their EMA debut with performances at the ?2012 MTV EMA. Jepsen's smash hit "Call Me Maybe" achieved the No. 1 spot in 47 countries and has sold an incredible 10 million singles worldwide, and her new album "KISS" debuted at No. 1 in Japan and in the top 5 in 15 countries. fun.'s hit song "We Are Young" was in the top 10 in airplay in nearly 30 territories and sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide. Rita Ora's debut album "Ora" went straight to No. 1 on the UK charts and has already achieved Gold status; she's the only artist this year to have three consecutive No. 1's in the UK.

These three talented newcomers join previously announced performers Taylor Swift, Muse and No Doubt. Hosted by supermodel, entrepreneur and hometown girl Heidi Klum, the 19th annual awards show will broadcast live from Frankfurt's historic Festhalle on Sunday, 11th November at 9PM CET* on MTV channels around the world.

"This will be my first time at the MTV EMA, and I am beyond thrilled  feeling like a lucky duck for the nominations and the chance to perform," said Carly Rae Jepsen. "Now the only concern is what to wear?! Let the party begin, Frankfurt."

"It's so incredible that we'll be playing at the MTV EMA, when not that long ago not many people knew who we were in Europe!" said fun. "It just feels like that dream most people don?t get to experience."

Rita Ora said: "I'm so excited to be part of the 2012 MTV EMA! And to be nominated is incredible ? let?s have some fun this year!"

Jepsen, fun. and Ora have each been nominated for Best PUSH and Best New, while Jepsen and fun. are also up for Best Song. As previously announced, Rihanna and Taylor Swift top the list of the ?2012 MTV EMA nominees with six and five nods, respectively, with Justin Bieber and Katy Perry following closely behind with four nominations each. Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z and Kanye West each received three EMA nominations, while Green Day, Gotye, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Jack White and One Direction are up for two awards. MTV will announce additional EMA performers and presenters at a later date.

The 2012 MTV EMA will air across MTV's global network of more than 60 channels reaching nearly 700 million households around the world as well as through syndication. In addition, its convergent programming and content will reach the entire interactive community, via MTV's more than 200 digital media properties around the world. For the second year in a row, MTV is inviting fans everywhere to have a say in which artist deserves the Biggest Fans award. The more fans engage with the EMA content featured on MTV?s digital platforms in the weeks leading up to the show, the more their participation and points can boost the chances for their favorite artist to win the Biggest Fans prize on November 11th. Also returning this year is the Worldwide Act category, which celebrates the range and breadth of all the music that MTV has to offer by showcasing incredible artists from all parts of the world. Additionally, fans participating in the MegaFan competition on MTV's EMA platforms can earn a chance to win a trip to the 2012 MTV EMA in Frankfurt. Fans can vote for EMA categories, including Best New, Best Live and more by visiting www.mtvema.com online or http://m.mtvema.com on their mobile phones. Voting for EMA categories is open now until 11:59PM CET on Friday, November 9th, 2012.

The 2011 MTV EMA, held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, was the event's most watched telecast ever with more than 39 million viewers tuning in to MTV and VIVA channels around the world. The 18th annual show saw a double-digit increase year over year with the coveted P12-34 demographic and enjoyed a +29% increase in unique visitors to the EMA website on show day. The 2011 MTV EMA also drew an impressive total of 158 million votes worldwide, a huge growth of +236% year over year.
