Griffin Matthews, who was seen on the short lived ABC comedy "Cashmere Mafia" has been cast in a new NBC comedy pilot "The Untitled Hilary Winston Project." Matthews will co-star as V.J.
The project is written by Hilary Winston ("Happy Endings") who will executive produce with Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings, My Boys) and Julia Franz (Scrubs) and is being directed by Hairspray's Adam Shankman. The pilot revolves around Agnes (Sarah Wright), a shy, focused woman who, after being dumped by her fiancé (FrEddie Prinze Jr), leans on her co-workers played by Griffin Matthews, Mena Suvari, Aubrey Dollar, and Kyle Howard to help come out of her shell and plot her revenge.
Matthews is an award winning theater composer/writer of Broadway bound Witness Uganda, a documentary musical that details the journey of starting his grassroots nonprofit organization UgandaProject. The musical recently won the prestigious Richard Rodgers Award and he and co-writer Matt Gould are slated to perform at TEDx Wall Street on March 30th.
Griffin Matthews is represented by Michael Einfeld Management/Kerin-Goldberg & Associates and John Buzzetti at WME.
