GREG PROOPS (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) will release his new comedy album 'PURPLE SHASTA RACCOON' on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15 via ASPECIALTHING RECORDS. Recorded live at The Punch Line in San Francisco, Proops took the stage on New Year's Eve for a third year in a row and unleashed a hilarious and spontaneous stand-up set laced with his customary sarcasm, dry wit and masterful wordplay. His signature rapid fire delivery and spot-on impressions are also well-represented as he delivers his takes on Texas and the Alame-O, Florida, Wisconsin, H. R. Pufnstuf as done by Cormac McCarthy, and much more.

'Purple Shasta Raccoon' follows Proop’s previous releases, ‘French Drug Deal’ which was named in Paste's Best Comedy Albums of 2023, and ‘In The City’, both of which were also recorded live at The Punch Line on New Year's Eve and available on aspecialthing Records.

Greg Proops is a stand-up comic from San Francisco. He resides in Hollywood. It’s not that bad. Really. Known for his work on hit improv show Whose Line is it Anyway?, his podcast "The Smartest Man in the World", live shows, and many live stand-up albums, Proops is a legend in the comedy world. He is the host of the podcast "The Greg Proops Film Club", covering old and new movies, available on iTunes. Greg has lent his voice to Hell and Back, Star Wars the Phantom Menace, The Nightmare Before Christmas and was THE VOICE of Bob the Builder. His nonfiction book “The Smartest Book In The World” (Touchstone), praised as “Funny, political, literate, and bold—all at once” (New York Journal of Books), is out now.
