Fame and Philanthropy Oscar Night Event announced today that Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum artist and founder of the Compound Foundation, NE-YO, will be performing live at the historic event. Additionally, Cash Money Records DJ duo, Stafford Brothers, will be spinning throughout the evening. Previously announced special guests include James Cameron and Charlize Theron. The inaugural event will be held at a private location in Beverly Hills, CA on Sunday, March 2nd.
Compound Foundation and TCP Youth Entrepreneurship programs will be benefactors of the star studded event. Proceeds from the evening to benefit a Youth Entrepreneurship program run by Chandra Stovall.
In 2007, NE-YO founded the Compound Foundation, a non-profit organization that is committed to increasing awareness about the status of children in the child welfare system. It also supports and partners with residential care facilities and independent group homes through programs aimed at teaching entrepreneurship and life skills. The award-winning singer, composer, and producer has three number one albums (including "Year of the Gentleman" and "Because of You"), over 10 million albums sold worldwide, three Grammy awards & 12 nominations. NE-YO has written and produced top hits for a string of singers including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, and others. His latest album "R.E.D.," an acronym for Realizing Every Dream, was released November 2012 to critical acclaim spawning hits such as lead single "Let Me Love You" and "Should Be You." In addition to being a talented musician, NE-YO is an actor. His movie credits include: George Lucas's RED TAILS (2012), Stomp The Yard (2007), Battle: LA (2011), and Save the Last Dance 2 (2006). He was also recently appointed Senior Vice President of A&R for Motown, a coveted role at one of America's most important and prestigious blue-chip record labels.
Australia's #1 DJs the Stafford Brothers will be spinning throughout the evening. Their current single, "Hello" featuring Lil Wayne and Christina Milian, hit triple platinum selling status reaching #4 on the official singles chart and #1 on iTunes (Dance) sitting inside of the top 5 most played tracks on radio this year. "Hello" has been nominated for Song of the Year in the 2013 ARIA Awards.
