Glenn Close Among Guests on THE VIEW's Season Premiere Week

A new season of ABC's Emmy® Award-winning talk show THE VIEW begins live, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4-7 (11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, ET), with celebrities including Glenn Close, Dwyane Wade, Kim Kardashian, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kirsten Dunst and her "Bachelorette" co-stars Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan.

Award-winning actor Richard Gere ("Arbitrage") will make his first appearance on "The View" September 14; Patti Mallette (a.k.a. Justin Bieber's mother) joins the co-hosts live on September 19; actors Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men") and Andrew McCarthy (author, The Longest Way Home) - who, coincidentally, starred together in the 1986 romantic teen comedy/drama, "Pretty in Pink" -- are featured guests, live, September 18; and Oscar-winning actress/singer Jennifer Hudson and actress Amy Adams will appear September 11 and 12, respectively.

The "Sweet 16" season will continue to feature the popular show segments "Joy's Month in Review," "Reality Show Round Up" and the return of "Guy Day Friday." The show's "Red, White and View" campaign will kick into high gear as our country looks toward the upcoming presidential election.

Scheduled guests for the week of SEPTEMBER 3-7 are as follows (subject to change):

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 (ENCORE BROADCAST OAD 5/28/12) - Whoopi, Joy, Elisabeth and Sherri unveil their favorite things during this one-hour theme show; WABC-TV meteorologist Bill Evans (author, It's Raining Fish and Spider).

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 - ABC's "The View" returns live for Season 16; Jamie Lee Curtis (author, My Brave Year of Firsts); basketball player Dwyane Wade of the 2012 NBA Champions the Miami Heat (author, A Father First).

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 - Reality star Kim Kardashian ("Keeping Up with the Kardashians); Kristine Casey, the gestational carrier for her daughter, Sara, who became the oldest woman ever to give birth (Bringing in Finn) in Chicago.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 - Glenn Close ("Damages"); Terry Bradshaw; Sherri and Elisabeth's "Reality Show Roundup," featuring weekly dish on all the outrageous drama and antics of television's most popular reality shows.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 - Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan ("Bachelorette"); Mitch Albom (author, The Time Keeper).
