Gina Rodriguez is set to star in Warner Bros.' "Bobbie Sue" film, according to Variety.
The film follows a young ambulance-chasing lawyer who lands a career-making case with an upper crust law firm only to realize she's been hired for optics, not her expertise. After that, she must find a way to win the case using her unconventional, scrappy lawyering skills.
Charles Stone III will direct the film. Donald De Line is producing with Rodriguez and Emily Gipson executive producing.
Rodriguez is best known for starring in the hit CW show, "Jane the Virgin." Coming up she will star in "Miss Bala," the Netflix film "Someone Great," and the Carmen Sandiego, the Netflix animated series in which she will voice the title character.
She most recently starred in Paramount's "Annihilation."
