'Game of Thrones' Oona Chaplin to Star in PURGATORIO

Variety reports exclusively that Oona Chaplin will star in the Spanish psychological chiller PURGATORIO from producer Apaches Entertainment. The actress is best known as Talisa Maegyr, the wife of Robb Stark in HBO's "Game of Thrones." Andres Gertrudix ("The Orphanage") and Ana Fernandez ("Talk to Her") will co-star.

Catalan Pau Teixidor will helm the project which will begin filming in Spain on December 1st. Chaplin will take on her first lead role as, "a young woman who agrees to look after Daniel, a neighbor's young son. But, as the night wears on, the neighbor never returns, and Daniel's behavior becomes ever more unstable, unsettling and violent as he insists there's another boy hiding in the house, whom only he can see."

The actress is the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and the great-granddaughter of playwright Eugene O'Neill. She has acted in mainly British and Spanish short and feature films and has played alongside her mother in three feature films: Inconceivable, 'Para que sirve un oso' and Imago Mortis.

In 2010, she appeared as a Brazilian cage dancer in ITV's Married Single Other(2010), followed by roles as the wife of one of the main characters, Hector Madden, in the BBC period drama The Hour (2011-2012), as Dr. John Watson's girlfriend in an episode of BBC'sSherlock (2012) and as Talisa Maegyr in HBO's Game of Thrones (2012-2013).
