There are 100 people hanging on your every word, waiting for that one fatal misstep so they can abscond with all your cash - but hey, no pressure! Yes, the money-mad mob is back: GSN announced today that the network is launching an all-new, original version of the popular game show, 1 VS. 100, produced by Endemol USA and hosted by DANCING WITH THE STARS' Carrie Ann Inaba, in her first role as a game show host. The series will premiere on Monday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT, and air Mondays through Fridays at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.
In 1 VS. 100, one player ("The One") must correctly answer a series of multiple-choice trivia questions while trying to outlast "The Mob" of 100 people, who are also trying to answer each question. If The One is correct, all Mob members who answered the question incorrectly are eliminated, bringing the lone contestant closer to winning the game. Along the way, The One can "Poll the Mob" or "Trust the Mob" for help with the answers. If the contestant eliminates all 100 Mob members, he or she claims the top prize of $50,000. However, if The One is incorrect, the game ends and he or she leaves with nothing, and the remaining members of the Mob split the contestant's winnings.
Kelly Goode, GSN's SVP of Programming, commented, "1 VS. 100 is a unique game format that has great energy and personality. Carrie Ann will capture the liveliness of this format: she's warm, personable and full of energy. She really connects well with viewers and she'll bring a lot of fun to the show."
Inaba said, "I'm thrilled to be working with GSN and Endemol USA to host my very first game show. 1 vs. 100 has already proven to be a huge hit and successful brand in the past so I'm very much looking forward to introducing the audiences to a new and exciting version."
Rob Smith, Endemol USA's SVP of Programming, added, "We are thrilled to be working with GSN to bring back 1 vs. 100 to television. The producers have been extremely innovative in bringing back the game that viewers already know and love, in a new and technologically advanced way."
Best known as a charming and outspoken judge on Dancing With the Stars, 1 VS. 100 host Carrie Ann Inaba has been dancing her way to success ever since she started as a Fly Girl on the sketch comedy show In Living Color.
