In advance of Veterans Day and just in time to help the USO celebrate the one year anniversary of Every Moment Counts, television heroes got to meet real life heroes at Fort Hamilton, New York. Actors Ben McKenzie and J.W. Cortes from the new FOX/Warner Bros. Television hit series "Gotham" hosted an exclusive USO advance screening of their show for hundreds of troops and military families. These special guests got a sneak peek of upcoming episode "The Mask," which will air nationally on the FOX network on Monday, November 10 at 8pm/7pm.

"I am honored to be able to share my latest project with the men and women of our military and their families," said McKenzie. "It was an amazing day, shared with some incredible people, thank you to the USO and all the people at Fort Hamilton who made this day possible for our troops."

McKenzie and Cortes also hosted a Q&A session, signed autographs and thanked the Fort Hamilton military community for their service and sacrifice. McKenzie, who traveled on his first USO tour in 2012 to visit troops and military families in Japan, invited cast mate Cortes, a Marine veteran, to join him in creating the moment the Fort Hamilton military community won't soon forget.

"I am thrilled Ben invited me to participate in the screening at Fort Hamilton, the base my father and I both took our oaths of enlistment. It was amazing to honor my father, other combat Veterans, members of the armed services and their families. And, the perfect way to begin celebrating Veterans Day."

Since the launch of Every Moment Counts, the USO has created nearly 11 million moments for troops and their families. From everyday moments, like providing a traveling service member a comfortable place to rest, to record-breaking moments of collecting more than 110,000 signatures of thanks for troops and their families - the USO is how Americans can tell our troops they are not alone and that we are always by their side. Celebrity volunteers like McKenzie, Logue and Cortes are crucial to helping the USO make those lasting memories for military families.
