ABC News' "Good Morning America" finished as the No. 1 morning program during the 2nd Quarter 2013 in both Total Viewers (5.501 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.017 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. 2Q13 stood as "GMA's" first 2nd quarter victory in 18 years in Total Viewers and in 19 years Adults 25-54 - since 2Q95 and 2Q94. In addition, 2Q13 represented "GMA's" 4th consecutive quarter win in Total Viewers, its longest streak in nearly 20 years (since 4Q93 - 3Q94); and 3rd straight win in Adults 25-54, its best run in more than 21 years (since before 4Q91; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991).
Impressively, "GMA" ranked No. 1 in every week of 2Q13 (all 13 weeks) in Total Viewers, winning every week of the quarter for the 3rd consecutive quarter. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" ranked No. 1 in 11 of 13 weeks.
"GMA" outdelivered NBC's "Today" (4.712 million and 1.922 million) during 2Q13 by +789,000 Total Viewers and +95,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" scored its largest Total Viewer advantage over "Today" during any quarter in more than 21 years and biggest news demo lead during a 2nd quarter in 19 years - since before 4Q91; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991 and 2Q94, respectively.
For the 3rd consecutive 2nd quarter, "GMA" was up versus the year-earlier quarter (4.953 million, 1.919 million and 1.415 million, respectively, for 2Q12) in Total Viewers (+11%), Adults 25-54 (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+2%). In fact, "GMA" marked its most-watched 2nd quarter in more than 21 years and most-watched quarter overall in more than 8 years - since before 4Q91; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991 and 1Q05, respectively. In addition, "GMA" turned in its top 2nd quarter performance in 7 years in Adults 25-54 and in 5 years in Adults 18-49 - since 2Q06 and 2Q08, respectively.
During 2Q13, "GMA" nearly doubled the performance of CBS' "Early Show" in both Total Viewers (+90%) and Adults 18-49 (+99%), while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+101%). In addition, "GMA" outperformed the CBS program by its largest advantages during any quarter in 8 years in Total Viewers (2.606 million) and in nearly 7 years in Adults 25-54 (1.015 million) - since 2Q05 and 3Q06, respectively.
