In the November 21st issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, GLEE's Naya Rivera speaks about her excitement over her upcoming debut album which she is just putting the finishing touches on. The actress was recently signed to Columbia Records for three years.

"It took a long time to figure out where I wanted to go musically," says the actress who was hoping to put a more soulful spin on the album's tracks by composing her own songs and going with her first choice for producers (including Tricky Stewart and John Lock.)

Upon the completion of her track titled "Sorry," the artist informed Columbia, "This is what I'm doing. Get on or get off. I think this is a summer song, and I want it on the radio by the end of the summer."

Rivera, who began auditioning for acting roles at the tender age of 4 explains that she has always been driven by the dream of becoming a star. "I remember feeling really important when I would wake up for a 5 a.m. call time," she says. "I knew I must be doing something special if the sun wasn't even up yet."

She continues, "I was so focused on trying to book a show or get a record deal that I was really removed from the whole high school experience," she says. While working multiple jobs including a nanny and a Hooters waitress, her dream became a reality when she got cast in the role of Santana on the FOX musical dramedy. "It was like a second chance at high school," she jokes, "Only I got paid for it. Not too shabby."
