GLEE's Alex Newell Joins Cast of Teen LGBT Film GEOGRAPHY CLUB

The Huffington Post reports that GLEE's Alex Newell has joined the cast of GEOGRAPHY CLUB, an upcoming adaptation of Brent Hartinger's popular novel of the same name.

The actor joins previously announced cat members Marin Hinkle, Meaghan Martin, Cameron Deane Stewart, ALLIE GONINO, Justin Deely, Nikki Blonsky, Scott Bakula and Ana Gasteyer on the film that that explores the complex and emotional struggle of Being a closeted LGBT teen in high school.

In an interview with Eonline, Newell, who portrays transgender high school student Wade "Unique" Adams on the FOX musical drama, shared "When I first read the script, I was like, 'Wow, this is going to open a lot of eyes. It really appealed to me because I wanted to open more eyes about it and show people this is what we go through."

"Geography Club" will be out in limited release and via on-demand services on November 15.
